The lawyer explained to Crimeans how to calculate the amount of sick leave

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Alexander Yuzhalin, director of the SuperJob legal practice, spoke about how to get sick without financial complications and how to act correctly in case of sick leave.

The amount received for the sick leave period depends on the total length of service during which contributions were made for the employee to the Social Insurance Fund (SIF) until 2023 (since 2023, the SIF merged with the Pension Fund into a single fund — the Social Fund of Russia, or SFR) . If such total length of service is less than 5 years, then during illness the employee is paid 60% of average earnings; if from 5 to 8 years — 80%; more than 8 years — 100%.

If over the past 2 years you have changed jobs or managed to work part-time, the amount of payments to you will be calculated according to the same scheme, but taking into account the income at your previous place of work. Upon dismissal, the employer, until the end of 2022, issued a certificate of the amount of wages on which insurance premiums were calculated — when calculating sick leave, the accountant relied on this document. From 2023, upon dismissal, an employer may not issue a certificate of the amount of payments. To obtain such information, the new employer himself will request this information from the Financial Markets Service.

From 2022, clinics or hospitals will no longer issue paper sick leave certificates. Now certificates of incapacity for work are issued in the form of an electronic document. You can ask the doctor to tell you your sick leave number, so that you can then transfer it to your employer or track it yourself, for example, at State Services.

The SFI must find out about your sick leave and inform your employer about it. However, it would not be amiss to inform the employer about the sick leave yourself, providing its number. Knowing the sick leave number, the employer will find the necessary information in a special system.

Currently, temporary disability benefits are paid in parts: benefits for the first 3 days of sick leave are paid by the employer, for all other days — directly by the SFR. To do this, your employer will need to transfer the necessary information about you to the Financial Markets Service. The benefit will be credited to the account that you provide in your personal information (the employer usually asks you to provide such information when you are hired or when an insured event occurs).
