The Livadia Palace and the Yasnaya Polyana Museum-Reserve announce the Returned Names project

The opening of the exhibition «Returned Names» will take place on April (on : 00) in the Livadia Palace Museum — on the eve of the anniversary of the liberation of Yalta from the Nazi invaders. This is a joint project with the Yasnaya Polyana Museum-Reserve (Tula).
Guests and residents of Crimea will be able to see original and unique documents, letters from soldiers and commanders of the Red Army 1941 of the year, personal belongings of the commander 50 th Army of the Bryansk Front of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Mikhail Petrov, discovered during the search work of the military-historical detachment «Glorious» in 2019 — 2021 years in the Tula region. In addition, three combat banners will be presented: th rifle division, 407th evacuation hospital, banner Baltic party organization. The exhibition will tell about the previously unknown feat of political instructor Ivan Astakhov, who, being surrounded, saved from the Nazis a secret convoy with documents from the headquarters of the 50 th Army of the Bryansk Front , — the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea reported.
Acquaintance with the exhibits will allow a deeper study and understanding of the history of our Fatherland, which, ultimately, contributes to countering attempts to falsify the history of the Great Patriotic War. The finds of the Glorious search detachment helped to establish the fate of the missing soldiers and commanders of the Red Army.

The Livadia Palace Museum is the first to host the exhibition project «Returned Names» as part of an all-Russian tour. In the summer it will be presented at the Military-Patriotic Forum «Army-2022».
