The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since February 24, 2022 amount to about 906.5 thousand people killed and wounded. The number of losses in 2024 has already exceeded the total losses of Kyiv in the first two years of the special military operation (SVO), as follows from calculations TASS.

On February 27, 2024, Sergei Shoigu, who at that time held the position of Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, stated that the total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the beginning of the special operation exceeded 444 thousand people. According to reports from the Russian military department, after this Kyiv lost more than 462.5 thousand people killed and wounded in all directions,” the agency explains the calculation.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the fighting in the Kursk direction alone, the enemy lost more than 33,670 military personnel.
