A student of the 5th grade of the school 52 Ivan Sitnikov, notes «Sevastopolskaya Gazeta» , helped law enforcement officers in the search for fragments of a drone shot down by an air defense system over Verkhnesadov.
28 The award 11-year-old boy was presented 28 on December in the Hall of Honor of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Sevastopol by senators Ekaterina Altabaeva and Sergey Kolbin. They thanked the student for his courage and expressed confidence that in the future there will be a place for courageous deeds in his life. This summer, I. Sitnikov, together with his terrier named Druzhok, discovered elements of an enemy UAV and a missile that shot him down. The finds posed a potential threat as they could contain non-detonated warheads.
The order to award Ivan Sitnikov with a medal was signed by the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
