The Meganom Academy intends to train location managers for film shooting in the south of Russia

The Meganom Academy of Creative Industries has opened registration for the “Location Managers: Your Start in Film” program. It is designed for residents of the south of Russia — representatives of the tourism and hospitality industry, students and graduates of universities and colleges in the areas of film production, hotel management, management, tourism, journalism, social and cultural activities, and also film industry workers. Participants will be able to master the skills of a location manager and become a specialist in finding outdoor and interior locations for filming films and TV series in their region. Registration for the program is open until November 3 at website art cluster «Tavrida» and in the application «Meganome» in VK.

The program is aimed at training film location managers for further cooperation with the new project of the Tavrida art cluster — the Yug.Kino studio. Workers in the hospitality industry, students and graduates of universities in the areas of film production, tourism, hotel management, management and journalism, as well as representatives of the film industry are invited to participate in the program. Residents of 9 regions will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of film production in the south of Russia: the Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk People’s Republic, Lugansk People’s Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Rostov region, Stavropol and Krasnodar territories.

The program will be held in 3 stages: from December 12 to 19, 2024, the first full-time module will take place at the Meganom Academy; from January to March 2025, participants will work online as part of the second module; the third full-time module will be held at the Meganom Academy at the end of March 2025.

During the educational process, they will become familiar with the peculiarities of film production, understand the intricacies of searching and evaluating locations for filming, and also acquire the skills of a manager on film sets, and learn how to interact with authorities to obtain filming permits. The best participants will have the opportunity to practice theoretical knowledge on a real film set.

The result of the work of the participants in the “Location Managers: Your Start in Film” program will be a catalog with locations for filming in the southern regions of our country. It will contain both recognizable objects from the represented regions, as well as lesser-known interior and outdoor locations. The best participants will be recommended for cooperation with the Yug.Kino studio and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the film industry, as well as present their city or region as an interesting and picturesque platform for the production of films and TV series.

From December 12 to 19, the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries will host the first full-time module of the educational program “Location Managers: Your Start in Film.” It will be held in 3 stages: the first face-to-face module will take place from December 12 to 19, 2024 at the Meganom Academy, within the second module from January to March 2025, participants will work online, and the third module will take place face-to-face at the end of March 2025 at the Academy .

Studio «Yug.Kino» — a new project “Tavrida.ART” and another point of attraction for Russian and international film producers. This is the largest pavilion and location complex with an area of ​​5000 m² for filming the full cycle of any media projects, as well as a professional hub for filming throughout the south of Russia, including in new regions. Together with eminent professionals, participants of creative youth communities will be involved here — young filmmakers, animation, and music video making. Together with experts, they will be able to master the latest technologies for creating video materials, implement their ideas and create new Russian cinema that can compete on the world market.
