On the Day of the Unknown Soldier, which is celebrated in Russia on December 3, in the Simferopol park named after. Yu. A. Gagarin held an event in memory of those who went to meet death in battles for their Motherland, showing the world an example of courage, heroism and love for the Fatherland, famous and nameless soldiers of the Great Victory.
The head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov, the first vice-speaker of the Crimean parliament Efim Fiks, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk, military personnel, veterans, representatives of law enforcement agencies and departments, youth and public organizations, the leadership and residents of the city honored the memory of Soviet and Russian soldiers with a minute of silence, those killed in hostilities on the territory of our country and beyond its borders, and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
According to Sergei Aksenov, the Day of the Unknown Soldier is a date in which great meanings and sorrow, memory and gratitude merge.
Each of us remembers the words of the epitaph on the memorial at the Kremlin wall, opened on December 3, 1966: “Your name is unknown, your feat is immortal.” This is an appeal from the descendants of the winners to the nameless heroes who defended the future of Russia and the whole world.,” noted the Head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksenov expressed gratitude to the Crimean search engines. Thanks to their work, it is possible to restore the names of fallen soldiers, find their relatives, and bury heroes with proper honors.
We owe a huge debt to the Unknown Soldier.— emphasized the Head of the Republic.
A minute of silence was declared in memory of the heroism of the fallen soldiers.
The Day of the Unknown Soldier is a memorable date in Russia, which was established by the Federal Law signed by the President of the Russian Federation on November 4, 2014, in order to perpetuate the memory, military valor and immortal feat of Russian and Soviet soldiers who died in combat on the territory of our country or abroad, whose names remain unknown.
The date was chosen due to the fact that on December 3, 1966, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the defeat of German troops near Moscow, the ashes of the Unknown Soldier were solemnly reburied in the Alexander Garden near the wall of the Moscow Kremlin. He was transferred from a mass grave at the 41st kilometer of the Leningradskoye Highway at the entrance to the city of Zelenograd (now the Bayonet memorial complex is located in its place).
On May 8, 1967, the memorial architectural ensemble “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” was opened at the burial site. The Eternal Flame is lit. The grave at the Kremlin wall became the grave of “every” soldier who died in this war.
