Over the past 24 hours alone, employees of the Fire Department of the Republic of Crimea eliminated 5 fires of dry vegetation. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is confident that the main reason for such “landscape” fires is people’s careless handling of fire. The danger is great! In such fires, the flames can quickly spread to residential buildings, damage infrastructure, and destroy hectares of forests and land.
Yesterday, at 14:12, the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea» received a signal about a fire in the area of the village of Novopokrovka, Krasnogvardeisky district — dry grass was burning in the open area. Using a fire nozzle, firecrackers and backpack fire extinguishers, the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes. Its area was 300 square meters. meters. There were no injuries, the reasons are being established by experts.
On the same day at 15:59, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a message about a “landscape” fire in the area of the village of Vostochnoye, Sovetsky district.
Firefighters promptly applied barrel “B” and within 20 minutes extinguished the fire on an area of 200 square meters. m. Firecrackers and backpack fire extinguishers were also used to extinguish the fire— reported the emergency department.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea reminds residents of the peninsula of the need to comply with fire safety rules:
- do not throw or throw unextinguished cigarette butts out of car windows;
- do not leave garbage in the forest, especially cleaning material soaked in oil, gasoline or other flammable material;
- do not set fire to reeds, do not burn dry grass under trees, in forest clearings, in gardens, in fields;
- promptly clean your garden plot and the surrounding area from flammable waste and debris;
- in order to prevent the spread of fire from dry grass to buildings, carry out plowing and mowing on your personal plot;
- Do not light fires near buildings and structures, as well as in forested areas.
