The Ministry of Emergency Situations records an increase in fires of dry vegetation in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Extinguishing landscape fires is not an easy task. Especially in hot, sunny and windy weather. Nevertheless, every day the Ministry of Emergency Situations receives up to a dozen signals about the fire of dry vegetation in Crimea. And almost always the culprit of the fire (either directly or indirectly) is a person.
Over the past 24 hours, “landscape” fires have been extinguished in the Simferopol and Bakhchisarai regions, as well as near Sudak and Feodosia.
Yesterday at 14:09 a fire signal was received in the village. Skalistoe (Bakhchisaray district). Upon arrival, it was determined that dry grass and bushes were burning in the open area. The situation was complicated by strong, gusty winds.
There was a threat of fire spreading to nearby residential buildings. Firefighters quickly laid hose lines and extinguished the fire within 35 minutes over an area of 50 square meters. Further spread of the fire was avoided. There were no casualties. The reasons are determined by experts— reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.
At 16:23 a signal was received about a fire in the village. Primorsky (Feodosia). Here, near the construction complex, dry grass was burning. Firefighters carried out combat deployment and extinguished the fire within 20 minutes. Its area was 200 square meters.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea strongly recommends that citizens follow fire safety rules:
— install a container of water and a fire extinguisher at each residential building;
— mow down last year’s dry vegetation on and near your site;
— burn garbage and leaves only in a specially designated place away from forests, fences, buildings and residential buildings.
— do not leave containers with flammable and combustible liquids and combustible gases in open areas near buildings.
— if the land plot is located near a forest, ensure work to create fire-fighting mineralized strips;
— do not allow children to play with matches, lighters and other sources of open fire, because children’s pranks are one of the most common causes of fires!
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea also reminds that from April 17, 2024 by order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea A special fire regime has been introduced on the peninsula.
