The Ministry of Emergency Situations summed up the results of the New Year holidays in Crimea: 40 fires in 9 days

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea summed up the results of the New Year holidays. The main thing is that no emergencies occurred in Crimea over the weekends and holidays of 2024.

This year, 40 fires were registered in Crimea. Their number decreased by 18%. These were mainly man-made fires in housing without loss of life. The causes of fires remain unchanged, most of the fires, namely 75%, occurred due to careless handling of fire, 15% — the use of faulty electrical equipment.

New Year’s decorations and illuminations were not mentioned among the reasons. The population was informed about the rules of their operation and the importance of following the instructions, so no violations were recorded.

The ban on the use of pyrotechnics continues to apply in Crimea. The use of firecrackers, sparklers and cold fire fountains is permitted. On New Year’s Eve, some people violated the restrictions. Administrative penalties were imposed on these citizens— reported the emergency department.

Despite the warm weather, no incidents on the water were registered. GIMS of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia carried out preventive work among the population, which bore fruit — there were no casualties.

Today it got colder in Crimea and it started snowing. In conditions of a storm warning, rescuers organized round-the-clock duty. The Crisis Management Center continuously monitors the hydrometeorological situation, and close interaction is organized with the Unified Road Safety Service of municipalities. An emergency response from operational services is organized for all reports of incidents.
