The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns about rising water levels on the rivers of the Republic
CrimeaPRESS reports:
According to the Crimean Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, in the second half of the day on November 15 and during the day on November 16, water levels on the rivers of Crimea are expected to rise by 0.3-0.8 m without reaching dangerous levels.
In connection with the current situation, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Crimea warns:
- During the passage of a complex of dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena, there is a high probability of emergencies associated with flooding of territories, accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, disruption of transport communications, as well as damage and death of agricultural plants.
The Main Directorate recommends following safety measures:
- limit access to mountainous forest areas;
- the population living in close proximity to water bodies should, if possible, leave areas prone to flooding;
- staying in close proximity to river beds, including dry ones, is life-threatening;
- For tourists and lovers of wild recreation with a tent, during the period of the storm warning, we recommend that you refrain from the chosen type of recreation and postpone it to a more favorable period;
- refrain from going to the sea and inland waters;
- do not go to embankments and bank protection structures;
- pay special attention to the condition of drainage systems, drainage channels, storm drains, and cleaning storm sewers from debris.
- do not stay in underground passages and other buried rooms, as they may end up in a flood zone.
