In 2024, the amount of maternity capital is planned to be indexed by 5.3%, up to 618.1 thousand rubles. for the first child and up to 816.7 thousand for the second. If the family has already received the mother capital for the first child, then at the birth of the second, it will be entitled to an additional payment of 198.7 thousand rubles. Maternity capital will be indexed for inflation. According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development at the end of 2023, it will be 5.3%. It is assumed that in 2024-2025 the price growth rate will be at the level of 4%. With this in mind, in 2025 it is planned to raise the size of the mother’s capital to 642.8 thousand rubles. for the first child and up to 849.4 thousand rubles. on the second. In 2026, with indexation by 4%, maternity capital will increase to 668.5 thousand rubles. for the first child and up to 883.4 thousand rubles. for the second child.
The materials do not indicate how much money is planned to be allocated for the mother capital program and how many recipients will apply for its design. Earlier, from the preliminary projections of the Ministry of Finance for the federal budget for 2024-2026, it followed that the department proposes to reduce the estimate of the future federal transfer required by the Social Fund for the payment of maternity capital. The total decrease in the transfer over three years is estimated at 356 billion rubles. compared with the adopted budget and budget forecasts for 2026, RBC wrote. This proposal of the Ministry of Finance is under discussion, the Ministry of Labor indicated at the time. In any case, all applications received from citizens for the disposal of maternity capital funds will be satisfied, the department stressed.
The mother capital program in Russia has been operating since 2007. Until 2020, the state provided support only to families where a second child was born, then this measure was extended to the first child.

These funds can be spent on paying a down payment or mortgage debt, improving housing conditions without using a loan, educating children, forming a mother’s funded pension, as well as on a monthly payment (this option is available only to low-income families).
