The Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea begins the improvement of part of the excursion and ecological walking route “Mysterious Meganom”. Work here will be completed at the end of October. This is the first of 52 trail stages of the Great Crimean Trail project with a total length of more than 750 km.

As part of the improvement of the “Great Crimean Trail” (GCT), by the end of the year, measures are planned to improve four stages with a length of more than 75 km, passing through the territories of the urban districts of Sudak, Feodosia and the Kirovsky districtnoted the Ministry of Resorts of the Republic of Crimea.

The walking route “Mysterious Meganom” connects Sunny Valley with Sudak, passing through attractions, natural and man-made objects. This is the lighthouse keeper’s house, Cape Meganom and Meganom lighthouse, Shark Bay, «Penitent Monks», art cluster «Tavrida» and Kapsel Bay, Mount Kalisa-Kaya, temple at Mount Kalisa-Kaya, mountain and spring Ai-Georgiy, several lookout points sites on Cape Meganom and Mount Kalisa-Kaya, from which views of Sudak open.

Ecological, pedestrian tourism as a trend of modern tourism is increasingly in demand among guests and residents of Crimea. Its development is associated with the improvement and creation of the necessary infrastructure, including in specially protected natural areas, naturally, in compliance with all norms of environmental legislation. The most important principle here is do no harm. The concept of the Great Crimean Trail is precisely aimed at the necessary combination of developing protected areas, identifying points for investment, as well as identifying areas where anthropogenic load will be maximally limitednoted the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko.

The trail will pass through seven municipal districts and six urban districts, more than 20 specially protected natural areas and will consist of segments of about 15-25 km. It will be possible to complete each stage during daylight hours, while the route itself will allow you to compose an integral journey of a thematic nature from several sections.
