Corruption is like that hydra: they fight it, they defeat it, and new heads (and criminal cases) only multiply. Edition «Kommersant» confirms: the demand for the “services” of corrupt officials in Russia is growing. And the amounts have been stable for many years. The most popular bribe size in the country remains 10–50 thousand rubles. This follows from judicial statistics on corruption cases, which are published by the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court. For such extortions, 5,245 people were convicted in 2023, that is, approximately a quarter of all those brought to justice for corruption-related crimes, both in the main elements and as additional qualifications (in total there were 22,014 such people last year).
“Services of a non-property nature” were in second place – they were used by 3,760 corrupt officials. In third place are bribes in the amount of 1 thousand to 10 thousand rubles, and only in fourth and fifth place are amounts from 150 thousand (2978) and from 1 million rubles. (1800 convicted). The most “exotic” was the size of the bribe in the amount of up to 500 rubles (yes, corrupt officials do not shy away from “trifles”) — less than 700 people were prosecuted for this.
