The Nikitsky Botanical Garden (NBS) decorated the famous New Year tree of Crimea — a 12-meter sequoiadendron. This is the most original “New Year tree”, not even because it is an exotic evergreen tree, but because the decorations on it are the most unique — made by young Yalta residents with their own hands.
Christmas tree toys were made by schoolchildren, kindergarten students and creative studios of Greater Yalta. This year, 29 groups took part in the event and donated more than 500 different decorations, the NBS press service reported.
Sequoiadendron is 45 years old, but the creative action is 7. And year after year, New Year’s decorations are becoming more high-quality and interesting. The main condition is the water resistance of the materials. The desired size of toys is 30 cm and above. The result exceeded all expectations — hundreds of toys. They decorated the “mammoth tree” (another name for sequoiadendron) using a crane.
Thanks to everyone who took part, created their masterpieces, inspired, organized and helped us tell us about this wonderful project. Yes, we dressed up a redwood tree together,” the NBS press service reported on December 27.
The winners of the creative competition were awarded free invitations to the botanical garden.
