The next correspondence competition of the All-Russian festival of art songs “Greenland” has started: “I love you, Russia!”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The festival, named after the romantic writer Alexander Green, originated on Vyatka soil in the distant 80s. Every year in the Kirov region, on the third weekend of July, a whole tent city grows on the steep bank of the Bystritsa River, where lovers of soulful songs and active recreation gather.

Since 2010, Greenland has become a year-round project, within which correspondence competitions of songs, poems, videos and essays are held. Greenland’s correspondence competitions are finding increasing response from talented authors, performers from all over Russia and our compatriots living abroad. Such competitions allow creative people to express themselves regardless of their place of residence. Last year, more than 5,500 people took part in the Greenland correspondence competition.

The organizer and ideological inspirer of the festival, State Duma deputy Oleg Valenchuk, is sure that the secret of the attractiveness of “Greenland” is its sincerity and love for the Motherland:

Every Russian person echoes the word “Motherland” in his soul, says Oleg Valenchuk. — Each of us knows the value of this word. Russia is a country with the richest culture and great heritage, a country for the benefit of which our ancestors worked, and which we preserve and protect from enemies. Many poems and songs have been written about Russia. And all of them, from Russian classics to modern poetry, are imbued with pride, warmth and love. We expect new works from poets and musicians about love and fidelity, patriotism and family values, our common history and the Russian world.
