The Notary Chamber of the city of Sevastopol coordinates work with the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation

On June 9, 2023, a joint meeting of participants in the state system for providing free legal aid was held at the Office of the Ministry of Justice of Russia for Sevastopol.
The event was held in the format of video-conferencing. Those present discussed the forms of interaction between the structures involved in the process of providing free legal assistance in order to increase the effectiveness of its provision as part of the implementation of the tasks assigned to the State Fund for Supporting Participants in the Special Military Operation «Defenders of the Fatherland» (Fund).
Recall that this fund was created by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 232 dated April 3, 2023.
The participants of the event included representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and its territorial bodies, advocacy, the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Commissioner for Human Rights, other state bodies, as well as notaries of all regions of Russia. On behalf of the Notary Chamber of the city of Sevastopol, its president Maxim Yurchenko took part in the event. During the working meeting, issues of organizing and providing support and assistance to specific categories of people were discussed:
- combat veterans who took part in a special military operation in the territories of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) and Ukraine, in the territories of the Zaporozhye region and the Kherson region since 2022,
retired from military service; - persons who, in accordance with the decisions of the public authorities of the DPR and LPR, took part in hostilities as part of the Armed Forces of the DPR, the People’s Militia of the LPR, military formations and bodies of the DPR and LPR from 05/11/2014;
- family members of the said persons who died in the performance of tasks in the course of a special military operation, who died after being discharged from military service, if the death occurred as a result of an injury or illness received while performing tasks in the course of a special military operation.
As a result, the participants of the working meeting came to a common opinion that today such actions are top priority for all state bodies, public and professional associations of Russia.
The Sevastopol participants of the meeting decided to develop a «road map» for the successful implementation of the Presidential Decree as soon as possible.
