The number of self-employed people in Russia has reached 9 million. Of these, over 100 thousand are in Crimea

In Russia, the number of self-employed people increased by 37% compared to 2022 and reached 9 million people. The greatest growth compared to 2022 was shown by: the Republic of Ingushetia (by 63%), the Republic of Adygea (by 49%), the Republic of Crimea (by 47%), Krasnodar Territory (45%), Irkutsk Region (by 45%), Stavropol Territory (by 43%), Orenburg region (by 42%). This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
There are already over 110 thousand self-employed people in Crimea. Their total income is almost 20 billion rubles. The top five most popular types of activities indicated by the self-employed during registration included passenger and cargo transportation, real estate rental, and the provision of manicure and pedicure services.
This is one of the most convenient ways to start a business and try yourself as an entrepreneur. In addition, they have a super preferential tax regime — rates are only 4% and 6%, noted the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. – A variety of support measures are available for the self-employed: preferential lending, property support, free training programs, assistance in entering marketplaces, promotion on social networks, participation in all-Russian exhibitions.
Let us remind you that when settling with individuals, self-employed people pay 4% of income, and with organizations – 6%. Tax is calculated only on those transactions carried out in the mobile application. At the end of the month, the tax amount will be generated, which must be paid by the 25th of the next month. Self-employed people do not submit declarations to the tax authorities, voluntarily pay insurance premiums, and can also combine self-employment with official employment.
An important trend in 2023 was the increase in the number of young self-employed people. More than half of the self-employed (53%) are under 35 years old, 23% of them are under 25 years old. At the same time, the percentage of entrepreneurs under 25 years of age is increasing from year to year. An increase in self-employed citizens among women was also noted. Since 2020, their number has increased from 39% to 45%.
