The obelisk to the «Hero City of Sevastopol» is going to be restored by the end of 2023

Restoration of a cultural heritage site, the obelisk to the Hero City of Sevastopol, has begun. The work is carried out on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Under the control of Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, all necessary measures were taken with specialists, which allowed us to begin restoration work on the obelisk «To the Hero City of Sevastopol, — quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol and. O. Vice Governor Yevgeny Gorlov.

According to the official, the project provides for the strengthening of load-bearing structures, the replacement of damaged cladding, the restoration of the lost elements of inscriptions on high reliefs and the obelisk, and the improvement of the territory. In addition, an access device for people with limited mobility will be installed at the facility, as well as video surveillance systems and artistic illumination of the obelisk will be installed.

The restoration of the monument is carried out by the Sevastopol organization «Sevproektmontazh». The cost of all works will be more than 730 million rubles. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
