The acquisition of new equipment at the Simferopol City Clinical Hospital No. 7 allows a wide range of neurosurgical operations to be performed. This was reported in the Crimean Ministry of Health. A navigational stereotaxic unit compatible with a microscope, complete with accessories, was put into operation in the operating block of the medical institution. The cost of new equipment for the 7th City Hospital of Simferopol amounted to 25, 5 million rubles.

With the help of this setting, the course of the surgical intervention is calculated and planned. In particular, a 3D anatomical model of the affected area is created before the operation. It allows you to determine the least traumatic path to a mass formation in the brain or spinal cord, as well as calculate the most correct trajectory of the surgeon’s movements , — explained in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea.

The setup includes 3D cameras and electromagnetic sensors to track the position of surgical instruments during surgery. If necessary, you can connect the equipment to MRI and CT scanners, X-ray system. The operating microscope as part of the navigation system will also be used for microsurgical treatment of pathologies in the brain or spinal cord. The microscope will allow you to obtain high-contrast images with the required clarity and color reproduction.

With the help of new equipment, operations of any level of complexity will be carried out in a low-traumatic way. The use of a surgical unit will minimize postoperative complications and provide comfortable working conditions for specialists.

In addition, the 7th city hospital received 5 multifunctional medical beds with an electric drive for adjusting the angles of inclination and 30 medical functional beds with movable sections for a comfortable position of patients . Anti-decubitus mattresses were also purchased.
