The overhaul of Primorsky Boulevard in Sevastopol is 60% complete

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Sevastopol, major renovations of the Primorsky Boulevard embankment continue. The renovation project was approved by the Architectural and Art Council of Sevastopol. The designers set a goal not only to renew the coastal area, but also to ensure its durability and safety for residents and guests of the city. To date, the work has been completed by 60%.

To date, dismantling work has been completely completed, a 20 cm thick concrete base has been installed, and granite slabs are being installed. The facility is coastal, the operating conditions are quite difficult, so materials with improved technical characteristics are used here— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the chief engineer of Sevproektmontazh LLC Sergei Timofeev.

What is important is that granite slabs, in addition to being laid on a special adhesive mixture, are additionally secured with anchors to the concrete base so that the embankment will delight Sevastopol residents for decades.

Particular attention is paid to strengthening the retaining wall, which was also subject to regular destruction. It was strengthened using the shotcrete method: first of all, it was filled with concrete, and then metal reinforcement was installed to increase its strength. After repairs, the wall will be safe for citizens and will last for many years.

After dismantling the existing retaining wall finish, it became clear that it had been severely weakened by time. At the moment it has already been strengthenedsays the specialist.

The project also provides for a high-quality drainage system, since previously puddles often formed on the embankment.

The project implements a high-quality drainage system ensuring a slope from the walls to the border with the sea. The wave breaker walls are equipped with drains and trays, to which, by tilting the granite, the waves that hit the surface will be drainednotes Sergei Timofeev.

Let us remind you that before the start of work, comprehensive design and survey activities were carried out, and a positive expert opinion was received.
