The parliaments of Sevastopol and Minsk signed a cooperation agreement
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At the site of the international exhibition and forum “Russia” on Sevastopol Day, a cooperation agreement was concluded between the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol and the Minsk City Council of Deputies. The document was signed by the heads of legislative bodies Vladimir Nemtsev and Andrey Bugrov.
The speaker of the Sevastopol parliament noted that this is a historically important moment for the Hero City:
In the recent history of Sevastopol, 27 agreements on interaction with the legislative bodies of the regions of the Russian Federation have been signed. With this agreement, we for the first time consolidated friendly relations with the representative government of the Union Republic of Belarus. Sevastopol and Minsk are connected by a heroic past and glorious exploits of the victorious people. In addition, we are also united by a caring attitude towards our native history, our common Slavic values and traditions. We have agreed with Minsk on parliamentary cooperation and will develop relations in the spheres of social and political life, cultural and educational ties, and, of course, exchange experiences.
Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Andrei Bugrov, in turn, noted that the signing of the agreement became possible thanks to the national leaders of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko.
This is truly a historical event. Sevastopol and Minsk are hero cities. We have a common history, common goals and, most importantly today, common tasks. Two years ago, the heads of the executive authorities of our cities signed a cooperation agreement. But you and I know very well that the only force and the only source of state power is the people. And we, as representatives of the people, by signing an agreement between parliaments, not only consolidate the legal component of our relations, but also our fraternal and friendly ties, which will be supported by the residents of Minsk and Sevastopolsaid Andrey Bugrov.
The head of the Sevastopol parliament, Vladimir Nemtsev, noted that the signed agreement will give an additional impetus to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, exchange of experience within the framework of rule-making, legislative initiatives, as well as the development of economic, cultural, educational and tourist ties.
