In Yalta, a local resident was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for attempted drug trafficking.
The court found that the convict became a member of a criminal group engaged in the illegal sale of narcotic drugs in the territory of the Republic of Crimea via the Internet. At the end of April last year, for the purpose of further sale, a man received a wholesale batch of the narcotic drug methadone weighing almost 5 g, as well as parts of various mushrooms containing the narcotic substance psilocin, weighing 263 g.
The man took the specified substances to his place of residence, where he packaged them in 58 packages for the purpose of further sale in a contactless manner. The convict managed to equip 9 hiding places, immediately after which the young man was detained by internal affairs officers,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.
The Yalta City Court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 7 years and 6 months in prison. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony.
