“The place of power is Russia. Crimea»: the Yalta film company «Cimmeria» will show premieres about the peninsula

At the end of September the festival “Place of Power – Russia” will take place in Yalta. Crimea”, within which everyone will be able to watch 10 premiere documentaries about the peninsula for free. The films were shot this year by the Yalta film company “Cimmeria” based on the projects of the winners of the all-Crimean regional competition “My place of power, where is it?” According to Tourist portal of Crimea, festival “Place of Power – Russia. Crimea» will be the final stage of the youth cultural research project of the same name, which was implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

During the project, residents of Crimea aged 14 to 35 sent the organizers their ideas about what places and events related to the peninsula they consider most important for themselves and the whole country. The stated topics were varied: scientific research, Orthodoxy, architecture, family traditions, the legacy of outstanding Russian cultural and scientific figures, modern life of Crimeans in large and small settlements.

Actually, the Crimeans are the main characters of this documentary film saga. Their life, their attitude towards the past and future of their country, their region, their attitude towards each other, towards the place where they live and where their children will live — all this has become an interesting topic of research and is reflected in films. The geography of the project covered almost the entire peninsula: from Yalta to Dzhankoy, from Cape Tarkhankut to Kerch— said the organizers.

Viewers will be able to appreciate the premieres of films shot on the following topics: “Kara-Dag”, “Kite surfing in Mezhvodnoye”, “Crimean Academic Theater named after M. Gorky”, “Philosophical Garden” by N.Ya. Danilevsky”, “Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nizhnyaya Oreanda”, “Museum-estate of A.N. Beketov”, “Beacons… call sign SV”, “Ilurat”, “Yalta in the sixth generation”, “My Dzhankoy”.

The screenings will take place on September 29 from approximately 12:00 to 21:00 in the Yalta cinema «Saturn IMAX» (Kyiv St., 4).
