The police of Sevastopol summed up the raids of the «weekend» to identify drunk drivers

Since last Friday evening and over the past weekend, 22 drivers in a state of intoxication have been identified on the roads of Sevastopol, of which 2 have committed this offense again, for which criminal liability is already provided. The results of preventive raids were reported at the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds:

In case of refusal of a medical examination, as well as when driving while intoxicated, the driver faces an administrative fine in the amount of thirty thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years.

In the case of repeated driving while intoxicated, the driver faces criminal liability under Article 264 note 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanction of which provides for a fine in the amount of 200 to 300 thousand rubles, or imprisonment for up to two years.

It should be noted that for 5 months of this year, 11 traffic accidents occurred on the roads of Sevastopol involving drivers in a state of intoxication, in which 5 people died and 11 received various injuries.

In total, since the beginning of this year, employees of the State traffic inspectorate have identified 527 drivers in a state of intoxication, of which 61 got behind the wheel drunk again.

The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol warns that traffic police officers are daily aimed at identifying drivers who are intoxicated, as well as at suppressing other gross violations of traffic rules that pose a threat to road safety.
