The prank did not succeed: “kids” suspected of stealing mopeds were detained in Yalta
CrimeaPRESS reports:
What’s going on in the heads of these «kids»? Do they repent? Or are they worried about being caught and what punishment they will receive? Or they regret that they didn’t have the “Marauder’s Map” from “Harry Potter” with them. Oh, then they would tenderly say: “the prank was a success” and go home, again being little boys (for their parents)… And a magic card would save the thieves if there were external surveillance cameras at every step in Yalta. In any case, the facial expressions of the young suspects are not funny, but even very puzzled. Especially when they were shown this video.
The Yalta police duty station received two similar statements about the thefts of mopeds. The victims left their vehicles at the entrances in the evening, and later discovered the absence of personal property. The total amount of damage caused to the victims amounted to over 90 thousand rubles. As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified the suspects. They turned out to be two comrades, 15 and 16 years old, living in Yalta— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
During a conversation with law enforcement officers, the minors explained that during the walk they were looking for unattended mopeds. Having made sure that no one was watching their actions, they rolled the vehicles away from the parking lot, intending to subsequently dispose of the stolen goods at their own discretion. The suspects confessed to their crime and gave confessions.
Police officers found and seized the mopeds. They will be returned to their rightful owners.
It is worth noting that young suspects will have to answer for their actions according to the law, since they have reached the age of criminal responsibility.
The investigator of the police department No. 3 “Massandra” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened two criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. According to the sanction of the article, suspects face punishment ranging from a large fine to imprisonment for up to five years. The perpetrators were given preventive measures in the form of recognizance not to leave the place.,” the police clarified.
