Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to reduce the debt burden of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The head of state, in his message to the Federal Assembly, proposed writing off two-thirds of the regions’ debt on budget loans, which would save them about 200 billion rubles annually.

Now I would like to dwell separately on issues of regional development. What’s on offer? First of all, it is necessary to reduce the debt burden of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. I consider it necessary to write off two-thirds of the regions’ debt on budget loans. According to estimates, this will allow them to save about 200 billion rubles annually from 2025 to 2028said the President of the Russian Federation.

There will be separate assistance for those “lagging behind”. The support program for ten regions will be extended for another six years, after which they should become self-sufficient. In general, by 2030, all regions of Russia should be “economically more self-sufficient”; this, according to Putin, is “a matter of justice.”

The budget revenues of the Republic planned for 2024 are 202.1 billion rubles. Of this amount, Crimea’s “own” income is 71.5 billion rubles.
