The President of Russia visited the headquarters of the Southern Military District

Russian President Vladimir Putin, having completed his official visit to Kazakhstan, flew to Rostov-on-Don, where he visited the headquarters of the Southern Military District.
According to the Kremlin press service (having published several photographs), the President was accompanied at the headquarters by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov and other military leaders.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief was introduced to new models of military equipment. The head of state heard reports on the progress of the special military operationthe message says.
Not a single source provides details of the headquarters visit. TASS only notesthat Putin got acquainted with the Chinese Desertcross 1000-3 all-terrain vehicles purchased for the troops.
Several copies of the Desertcross 1000-3 buggy from the Chinese company AODES were displayed in the courtyard of the headquarters. Shoigu told Putin about this technology, calling it “extremely in demand.” According to the information board next to the vehicles, this all-terrain vehicle is intended for troops to conduct patrol and reconnaissance operations, raid and search and rescue operations, as well as transport material in difficult road and soil conditions. It also says that the troops now have 537 basic Desertcross 1000-3 units, about 1.5 thousand more with additions are being purchased, including 500 in December, the rest in the first quarter of 2024.
