The President of the Russian Federation today opened two new routes. Road builders plan to go from St. Petersburg to Crimea without traffic lights

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Russian President Vladimir Putin took part via video conference in the ceremony of launching car traffic on the bypass of the city of Aksai in the Rostov region and the far western bypass of the city of Krasnodar in the Krasnodar Territory.

The President of the Russian Federation today opened two new routes. Road builders plan to go from St. Petersburg to Crimea without traffic lights

Both facilities are located on the M-4 Don federal highway, which is the main route to the Black Sea and Azov coasts and the main entry artery to new regions. It is expected that its expansion will increase passenger traffic by 700 thousand people and give impetus to the development of housing construction.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, new ambitious projects will be implemented in the near future, one way or another related to transport links with the Crimean peninsula.

In 2024, the approaches to the Crimean bridge will be completed, as a result of which the Sea of Azov will be surrounded by an automobile ring with a length of about 1.4 thousand km.

One of the priority tasks in the framework of the development of the backbone road network is the construction of city bypasses. In the next five years, we have 47 city bypasses in operation. Today we are simultaneously opening two such important bypasses – the Aksai bypass and the Krasnodar city bypass. Both objects are located on the M-4 Don federal highway, which is the main route to the Black Sea and Azov coasts and the main artery of access to new regions. All the main cargoes to the new territories today go along this route.

I want to note that if in 2022 the passenger traffic on the road amounted to 22.3 million people, then this year, we believe that with the opening of these sections, the passenger traffic will be about 23 million. Also last year, you remember, we opened the bypass of Anapa. And now we hope that, having completed the detour to Crimea, we will get a full-fledged such road from Crimea to St. Petersburg without traffic lights— said Marat Khusnullin.

He also stressed that the road facilities completed today will reduce the travel time to the Black Sea coast, the most popular destination for tourists.
