The priority of the social policy of the Republic of Crimea is caring for older citizens

Today, 478 thousand citizens over working age live in Crimea. 7.8 thousand people aged 90 years and older. This year, 122 Crimeans (14 men, 108 women) celebrated their centenary anniversary. Most centenarians live in the cities. Simferopol, Yalta, Kerch and Evpatoria.
278 thousand elderly citizens receive various social support measures. About 3 thousand older citizens annually receive social services in stationary social service institutions, 15 thousand are served at home, 20 thousand are semi-stationary.
In 23 social service centers, the work of 268 interest clubs and circles has been organized (“Skillful Hands”, “Health”, “Favorite Game”, “Almanacs”, “Musical Lounge”, the “Lik” Theater, a school of spiritual revival, knitting and art clubs). embroidery, etc.). The technology of social services is also being implemented by the university of the “third age”, which is a complex of social and educational programs in various areas: “Healthy lifestyle”, “Summer and homestead farming”, “Computer technologies”, “Psychology”, “Culture and art”, “Legal literacy”, “Life safety”, “Foreign languages”, “Gerontology and geriatrics”.
Since 2023, a long-term care system has been implemented in the Republic of Crimea. As part of this, a personal care assistant has been assigned to 900 elderly and disabled citizens. By the end of this year, the republican program “Active Longevity” will be approved.
Elena Romanovskaya emphasized that one of the main development goals of our country until 2030, approved by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, is to increase life expectancy to 78 years by 2030 and to 81 years by 2036. To achieve this goal, additional conditions will be created to improve the quality and long active life of older citizens within the framework of the national project “Long and Active Life”.
