The problem of traffic jams on the Crimean bridge is solved by the President of Russia

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Jokes aside, but we have all the serious and seemingly insoluble problems solved by one person. And this is the President of Russia. A traffic jam from the mainland on the Crimean bridge is an objective phenomenon. Summer traffic, the desire of thousands of fellow citizens to definitely relax in the Crimea — and bam, many hours of traffic jams, discontent, nerves. It seems that everything was done according to the mind, but it seems to be.

It is important to understand that a special security regime operates on the Crimean Bridge, which provides for a 100% inspection of all vehicles. On both sides, up to 150 departmental security posts are on duty daily. According to Vitaly Savelyev, Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, by the beginning of the holiday season, a set of works was carried out to expand the inspection infrastructure from the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. 11 modular buildings, 18 inspection lanes equipped with the necessary technical equipment have been equipped. Per hour, they allow inspecting 440 vehicles from Taman and the same number from Kerch.

Since July 1, traffic has increased by 40%, which has led to the difficulty of the movement of cars. As a result of the measures taken, according to operational data, about 100 vehicles are waiting for passage, the waiting time is 30 minutesSaveliev noted.

The Minister’s optimism is shattered by real forecasts. Today-now the traffic jam in front of the Crimean bridge has stabilized, the waiting time for the passage is two hours. Everything will change on Friday-Saturday-Sunday (and this is at least for the next 4 weeks) — there will be many more cars. Well, the «peak loads» of traffic are expected on July 16-17 (checked by the statistics of the Crimean bridge). «Reverse load» when leaving the Crimea is predicted for the end of August. Here, even hundreds of inspection posts will not cope …

There is a solution to the problem (except for increasing checkpoints). And even two solutions.

The first is an alternative land route through new regions. Through the same Chongarsky bridge (logistics «Melitopol — Dzhankoy»). This bridge was repaired (after rocket fire from the UAF), which allows drivers to take an alternative route, bypassing the Crimean bridge. Yesterday, about 1.2 thousand cars drove through the territories of the new regions (data from the Ministry of Transport). Everything would be fine, but it is necessary to ensure 100%, even 101% safety on this route.

For you and me, it will not be a source of pride if security measures for our citizens who are going on vacation are not observed. Of course, we need to use all the possibilities, I agree with this. Please work in harmony with all services. And everything that can be done for the citizens must be done. If it’s really impossible to avoid these big traffic jams, then at least help people to transfer the time they are forced to spend on entering the Crimean peninsulathe Head of State noted.

Accordingly, Vladimir Putin relies more on the possibility of a ferry crossing. Today it is only for trucks. But that’s just today.

Vitaly Savelyev said that six ferries were already involved in resolving the situation on the Crimean bridge (in theory, since two of them are railway, two are freight, another one is under repair, and the sixth is “on the way”). And this is … the ultimate maximum.

From July 7, the car-passenger ferry «Kerchinsky-2» will start operating around the clock. It will carry out up to five round trips and will be able to transport up to 200 vehicles per day.the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation emphasized.

Obviously, 200 passenger cars a day is not an option. If necessary, a force of two landing craft will also be added.

In the morning I spoke with Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu, he will provide us, if necessary, with two large landing ships, which each take 40 vehicles. If they make 5 flights a day each, then it will be another 200 cars. In general, we will be able to transport up to a thousand cars through the crossingSaveliev said.

Thus, Vladimir Putin instructed to consider the possibility and direct part of the flow of tourists to Crimea not through the bridge, but through new regions of Russia. They will also use to the maximum the possibility of a sea crossing through the Kerch Strait.

The head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, commented on the situation as follows:

The authorities of the Republic of Crimea are in constant contact with colleagues from the federal Ministry of Transport, the leadership of the Krasnodar Territory and the FSB to strengthen measures to reduce the length of the congestion. At the moment, the waiting time from the Crimea takes about 20 minutes.

I thank the President for the support provided and his instruction to maximize the use of the ferry across the Kerch Strait. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation may attract two BDK (large landing ships) for the transport of vehicles. This will help stabilize the situation.

Will the problem of traffic jams on the Crimean bridge be solved? Did the President of Russia solve it with his instructions? Anything is possible… But no one can reproach the guarantor for not doing anything. According to the President, if big traffic jams cannot be avoided, then “everything must be done to help citizens reschedule the time they spend on entering the Crimean peninsula«.
