The production of rose essential oil has been resumed in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Turgenevskaya agricultural company, located in the Bakhchisarai region, has revived the production of essential oil of the Crimean essential oil rose. Previously, our country purchased this invaluable aromatic product abroad. Now it is sent to mainland cosmetics companies and goes on retail sale through marketplaces.
According to Tourist portal of Crimea, the Turgenevskaya agricultural firm owns the largest rose field in the country: from its 30 hectares, employees collect more than a million roses per season. Natural hydrolate is made from them — “living water” for the skin, and from this year the production of essential oil has been revived.
The company emphasizes that this is a 100% real product, without the addition of any extraneous chemical components or mixtures of other oils. The essential oil fully complies with GOST, has a rich golden-straw color and amazing aromatics.
During Soviet times, Crimea was famous for its endless pink fields. Enterprises in the essential oil industry annually produced hundreds of tons of rose water and up to 1.5 tons of rose essential oil. Over the past decades, the area of the fields has decreased significantly. If in 1980 in the Bakhchisarai region alone 780 hectares of essential oil roses were grown, now only 41 hectares throughout the country,” said Alexey Mishin, head of the Turgenevskaya agricultural firm.
According to experts, the rose is harvested only by hand. The process begins with the first rays of the sun and ends by 10:00, when the content of essential oil in the flower is maximum. During the morning, several tons of blossoming buds are sent for processing.
Natural rose oil has powerful regenerating and rejuvenating properties, increases skin elasticity and firmness, fights pigmentation, and evens out complexion. Rose oil is also famous for the fact that it increases the body’s resistance to disease, normalizes sleep, has an antiseptic, bactericidal, wound-healing effect, and lowers blood pressure.
In addition to the essential oil rose, the agricultural company grows, processes and produces natural essential oils and hydrosols of lavender angustifolia, clary sage and salvia officinalis, coriander, hyssop, and wormwood.
By the way, the pink and lavender fields of Turgenevskaya represent Crimea in the all-Russian project “Russia – a country of achievements”. You can vote Here.
