From June 6 to 9, a project on acrobatic rock and roll «My mentor is a Champion» will be organized in Sevastopol. Its goal is to help young athletes increase motivation to improve in their chosen sport and discipline, help professional athletes master the super-complex elements of acrobatics, as well as improve physical performance, develop such personal qualities as dedication, perseverance, team spirit. Honored coach of Russia Mikhail Baranov (St. Petersburg), honored masters of sports, champions of Russia, winners of the Russian Cup, European and World champions in acrobatic rock and roll Alexei Kondrashin and Darina Kozlova (Moscow) are invited as mentors.
Acrobatic rock ‘n’ roll cannot be viewed as just a dance or just a sport. This is a synthesis of these concepts, which is so complicated in each pair that sometimes it is impossible to understand how and why athletes do it, and those who can learn it give unique results that form the philosophy of our sport “Trust! Dream! Fly! I really hope and am almost sure that the mentors who are working with our team today will help the guys to comprehend this.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the President of the Sevastopol Federation of Acrobatic Rock and Roll Mikhail Kozakov.
The regional public organization «Sevastopol Federation of Acrobatic Rock and Roll» began its work in the city in 2006, and since 2014 has actively joined the All-Russian Federation.
Today, about 300 children of different ages are involved in acrobatic rock and roll in Sevastopol, half of them undergo sports training at Sports School No. 6. Since 2014, 15 masters of sports have been trained in the city, from 2022 to the present lists of the Russian national team in acrobatic rock and roll.
Municipal, regional and interregional competitions are constantly held on the territory of Sevastopol. The level of organization of the competition was noted by the All-Russian Federation, which resulted in the holding of the Russian Cup in Sevastopol in 2021.
