Currently, the Nakhimovsky District Court of Sevastopol is considering a criminal case against the former associate professor of the Department of the Institute. The woman is accused of the fact that in the period from December 2022 to June 2023 she received bribes from absentee students in the specialties in the specialties “Operation of ship energy attitudes” and “navigation”. Illegal monetary rewards were intended for setting positive assessments for passing the offset and examination in English without actual testing of knowledge, contributing to the passage of exams by other teachers and writing a thesis on behalf of students of thesis. According to the materials of the criminal case, in total, she received bribes from 14 students totaling 440 thousand rubles.

Consideration of all criminal cases on charges of students in giving bribes has already been completed. In relation to two, convictions were sentenced. As a punishment, they are scheduled for fines. Criminal cases against the rest of the students were terminated on an non -rehabilitating basis — in connection with a voluntary message about the crime and active contribution to its disclosure and investigation.

Since students did not actually pass the test and exam, they were unreasonably allowed to pass the final state certification, which means they did not complete the development of the educational program in full.

In this regard, the district prosecutor’s office sent 14 claims to the Nakhimovsky District Court of Sevastopol on the recognition of illegally received diplomas invalid, assigning students to return their originals to an educational institution, and the institute — the obligation to destroy these documents.

The claims of the prosecutor are under consideration.
