The Ministry of Transport corrects: 7 km from the mainland, 1.5 km from Kerch. Anyway, it’s endless hours of waiting. Why did it happen?

Actually, there are not so many reasons. The first is enhanced security measures. All transport passes checkpoints, cars, luggage, documents are checked. Whatever one may say, this procedure, let’s say… from 5 minutes. Even if they set up 20 checkpoints, they will be able to check (in the ideal version of the «robot operation» mode) 400 cars per hour. There are thousands of cars in front of the Crimean bridge.

And this is the «number two» reason — the traffic from the mainland has increased sharply since the beginning of July (the mass holiday season). Airplanes do not fly to Crimea, trains are packed and tickets are sold in advance. It was then that everything was decidedwave to the sea by car«. The private sector of resort towns and villages, cafes, hookahs, karaoke, bars and other shawarma bars happily rub their hands and count money. The third reason is our carelessness and selfishness. In the media and social networks, only the lazy did not write: to speed up the inspection procedure, things and documents must be in order. In fact … they mess around with cars for half an hour.

Hence the reason «number four»: the authorities, inspectors, transport control inspectors, security guards, and security forces were simply not ready for such a load. In general, their shift is hourly (from now to now), but how many cars have been inspected … Well, this is not an indicator of quality. The only and true indicator of quality is that nothing explodes on the bridge, pah-pah-pah. Due to the increase in the number of cars heading to the Crimea, as well as the inspection of the transported luggage, there is currently a queue at the entrance to the Crimean bridge.
