The railway to Crimea through new regions is at the design stage

A new railway from the Rostov region to Crimea, passing through new regions, is at the design stage, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told reporters at the Transport of Russia forum.

Since the times of the Soviet Union, we have had a railway to Crimea through new territories. Today, part of this road is at a safe distance from the contact line, part of the road runs closer to the contact line. Therefore, we are now working on these issues. It is currently at the design level as an alternative option to additionally allow flow through new territories. Such issues are being studied, but there is no final decision yetTASS quotes the Deputy Prime Minister.

In June, Deputy Head of the Government of the Zaporozhye Region for Economics Andrey Kozenko told TASS that pre-design surveys were being carried out along this railway route. According to him, the project is being implemented by the Novorossiya Railways enterprise, and construction can be completed within several years.
