CrimeaPRESS reports:
On September 1, 2023, the Regional Center for Identification and Support of Gifted Children in the Republic of Crimea “Impulse” was opened. To update the material and technical base, the institution was allocated a subsidy in the amount of 177.4 million rubles from the federal and regional budgets. The center was opened in Simferopol as part of the regional project “The Success of Every Child” of the national project “Education”.
The site was created on the basis of the Crimean boarding school for gifted children in the city of Simferopol and is the only educational institution in the region for academically gifted children, and is also of great importance within the educational sphere of the Republic of Crimea.
Before the opening of the educational center, a major renovation was carried out in the rooms allocated for it. All classrooms are prepared for classes, new furniture has been purchased. Crimean schoolchildren will be able to master the center’s programs during intensive educational shifts lasting from 2 to 3 weeks or through regular part-time and correspondence classes. Registration for educational sessions is available through the application form on the center’s website.
The Regional Center has been supplied with equipment for studying mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, biology and other sciences. It will include lecture halls, laboratories, and workshops. In addition, athletes will be able to engage in team sports, as well as martial arts and swimming. Selected students from grades 5–11 became participants in educational programs and shifts.
The center is equipped with the latest high-tech equipment, for example, a “Pies 2” table has been installed here, on which 3D objects from the human anatomy course are displayed on a 1:1 scale. Each model can be rotated, viewed from different angles, and enlarged. To develop basic skills in laparoscopic operations, which are performed on internal organs through small incisions, a training station similar to those used in medical schools has been installed here.
In addition, the center will conduct additional education classes in the field of environmental monitoring, general biology, agricultural chemistry, experimental robotics and other areas. Children will also be able to engage in painting and theater arts, learn to play chess, basketball and volleyball.
By the end of 2023, the center plans to conduct 15 intensive specialized shifts in such areas as Science, Sports, and Art. They will include 15 different programs lasting 20 days or more. During their specialized shifts, the guys will live on the territory of the center.
The opening of such centers provides significant support to the educational sphere, as it helps to identify the most promising young people who can achieve outstanding success for the republic, — noted in the Main Directorate for the Implementation of National Projects (regional project office).
