The regional event calendar includes new holiday dates and days
CrimeaPRESS reports:
July 1 is Combat Veterans Day.
The Crimean parliament approved amendments to the law on holidays and memorable dates. The bill proposes to establish a new memorial date in the republic: July 1 – Combat Veterans Day.
We honor and remember veterans of the Great Patriotic War on May 9, and pay tribute to internationalist soldiers on February 15. The introduction of a separate memorial date will allow us to unite all military veterans of our region, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their services to society, will increase the authority of the veteran regional movement and will become an element of the patriotic education of youth through the examples of our heroes-compatriots— note the parliamentarians.
In eight constituent entities of the Russian Federation (Sevastopol, Komi Republic, Saratov, Moscow, Leningrad, Irkutsk, Belgorod and Amur regions) such a memorable date has already been established.
The State Council of the Republic of Crimea adopted amendments to the law “On holidays and memorable dates in the Republic of Crimea.” As noted in the explanatory note, on October 30, 2023, the trade unions of Crimea will celebrate the 75th anniversary of their formation, in connection with which the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Crimea initiated the establishment of this memorable date. Trade Union Day is established and celebrated in 30 regions of the Russian Federation.
Parliamentarians also voted for two amendments to the above-mentioned law, which propose to introduce “Other holidays” in the Republic of Crimea (along with official holidays and memorable dates):
- May 14 – Day of the electoral system of the Republic of Crimea;
- October 30 – Day of Trade Unions of the Republic of Crimea;
- The first Saturday of December is the opening day of a multifunctional center for the provision of state and municipal services in the Republic of Crimea (2014).
