The regional stage of the All-Russian basketball competition among school teams took place in Sevastopol

On behalf of Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, a citywide Spartakiad of schoolchildren is being held in Sevastopol.
The Schoolchildren Spartakiad includes 13 physical education and sports events, each of which is a separate all-Russian project. Among them are the All-Russian sports games of school sports clubs, the festival of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense”, the All-Russian basketball competitions within the framework of the all-Russian project “Basketball for School” and others. The Spartakiad includes projects of various formats for absolutely everyone. These include intellectual ones — chess and checkers, volleyball, football, rugby, and complex competitions “Presidential Competitions”, Presidential Games, a festival of the GTO complex among educational institutions and much more.– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the Sevastopol sports department Sergei Reznichenko.
Most competitions consist of multi-stage events, and some are qualifying events. The main goal is to form national teams, identify the best athletes and send them to all-Russian competitions.
As part of the citywide Spartakiad of Sevastopol schoolchildren, from March 2 to 4, the city hosted the regional stage of the All-Russian basketball competition among teams from general education organizations of the city. The tournament took place as part of the all-Russian project “Basketball to School”, the championship “Lokobasket-School League” for the 2023-2024 season.
Eight teams of girls and eight teams of boys took part in the competition – that’s more than 150 schoolchildren.
The winners and runners-up were distributed as follows:
Among the youth teams
- 1st place – Engineering School;
- 2nd place – gymnasium No. 7;
- 3rd place – secondary school No. 19.
Among the girls’ teams
- 1st place – secondary school No. 4;
- 2nd place – gymnasium No. 1;
- 3rd place – secondary school No. 11.
The winners of the regional stage will represent the Hero City in the all-Russian final.
The event is held as part of the implementation of the regional project “Sport — Standards of Life” of the national project “Demography”.
