The Regional Vascular Center in Sevastopol received new equipment

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Thanks to the regional program «Fight against cardiovascular diseases» of the national project «Health», Sevastopol continues to re-equip medical facilities with medical equipment. The Regional Vascular Center received six ventilators, a robotic bicycle ergometer, a body weight unloading system and other modern equipment. New ventilators have an extended range of parameters that allows you to maintain respiratory function in patients with complete inability to spontaneously breathe or respiratory failure.

Patients in intensive care units are people who need replacement of vital functions. The capabilities of these devices are fully adaptable to the needs of our patients, since in the intensive care unit they are often in an extremely difficult or critical condition. The function of breathing is being replaced quite effectively and successfully by means of the devices that are now here, which allows saving people’s lives, — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the intensive care unit of the Regional Vascular Center Svetlana Yasinskaya.

As doctors explain, the advantage of the devices is that they can work both from the mains and from built-in batteries, which makes it possible to use them even in cases of power outages and carry the device along with the patient. Also, the functionality allows you to quickly review the current state of the patient’s ventilation.

All devices have been tested and put into operation, with the help of them, assistance is provided to the maximum number of patients. The more good, high-quality equipment is in the resuscitator’s arsenal, the more effective and reliable first aid is provided to patients.— emphasizes Svetlana Yasinskaya.

Another new device is a robotic bicycle ergometer. It is located in the Department of Neurology and is designed for active-passive mechanotherapy as part of the early rehabilitation of patients with lower limb dysfunction after neurological damage.

With this simulator, the patient can perform several types of therapy: unilateral, bilateral, leg press, stepping movements, cyclic exercises and ankle training in the supine, sitting or standing position— explains the instructor of the department of neurology Lyudmila Mazmenova.

An equally important part in the recovery of patients is the kinesitherapeutic suspension system for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, including after strokes, traumatic brain injury, and spinal injury.

Exercises are carried out using various suspensions, both static and dynamic, which are able to reduce the tension of overloaded muscles and promote the activation of weak muscle groups through neuromuscular activation and stimulation. With the help of exercises in the suspension system, the optimal level of load is selected. This contributes to the restoration of neuromuscular control, the elimination of biomechanical disorders in individual joints and the formation of correct motor stereotypes.— says Lyudmila Mazmenova.

Recall that the regional project «Fight against cardiovascular diseases» is aimed at reducing mortality from diseases of the circulatory system.
