In the village of Zavetnoye, Leninsky district of Crimea, the remains of the commanders and soldiers of the 383rd Donetsk Mining Rifle Division of the North Crimean Front, who died in November 1943 during the liberation of the eastern part of the Kerch Peninsula, and soldiers of the Crimean Front, who died in January — May 1942, were reburied with military honors. defense of the Kerch Peninsula.

This is one of the most massive reburials in the Crimea in recent years. Of the 247 Red Army soldiers, those who, at the cost of their lives, blocked the path of the enemy, 57 names were established from the preserved notes in soldier medallions and nominal items.

The ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Yefim Fix. In his speech, he noted that the connection between generations lives on to this day.

The fighters of the Donetsk military unit defended the Crimean land, and today the Crimeans, following the order of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, are fulfilling their military duty, freeing and protecting the Donetsk and Luhansk land from neo-Nazis, from those who were not killed during the Great Patriotic War— said Yefim Fix.

The burial ceremony was held with the observance of all military and spiritual honors. A memorial service for the dead Heroes was held by the rector of the church of St. Luke in the village of Zavetnoye, Archpriest Alexei and the imam of the Khyz-Aul mosque and the village of Zavetnoye Sheikhzapov Menaji.

The remains were discovered and identified as a result of the district’s «Find a Soldier» program. The program began its activities back in 2005, but received a new positive impetus after March 18, 2014, since the entry of Crimea into the Russian Federation. The noble and relevant work on the reburial of the remains of the fallen soldiers and the perpetuation of the memory of the Heroes of the Fatherland will continue.
