The Republic of Crimea entered the federal year-round project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

As part of the project, it is planned to comprehensively develop the recreational areas of the West Bank.

The Republic of Crimea entered the federal year-round project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal”. As part of the project, it is planned to comprehensively develop territories on the coasts and create new resorts in nine regions of Russia: Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Dagestan, Zaporozhye, Kaliningrad and Irkutsk regions, St. Petersburg, Primorsky Territory and Buryatia.

Earlier, the Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, at a meeting on the development of a project for federal year-round resorts, which took place under the leadership of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, announced that two projects are planned for implementation in Crimea in the west of the peninsula from the city of Yevpatoria to the city of Saki. The territory covers an embankment with a length of about 12 km.

The area of the seaside resort “Golden Sands of Russia” will be about 212 hectares. The year-round infrastructure of the resort will include outdoor heated swimming pools, thermal and medical complexes, an all-season water park, and an exhibition center. The project involves the construction of 17 hotels of 3.4 and 5 stars with 4.5 thousand rooms. The resort is expected to receive about 1 million tourists a year. About 60 billion rubles of extra-budgetary investments will be invested in the implementation of the project, while tax revenues to budgets of various levels will presumably amount to about 3 billion rubles. State support funds for this resort are required for the construction of transport and engineering infrastructure, including gas and electricity supplies, as well as the improvement of a 2-kilometer embankment.

The area of the Crimean Riviera seaside resort will be about 13 hectares. Private investments amount to about 16 billion rubles. The hotel complex will include 840 rooms. More than 90 thousand tourists will be able to relax here annually. 870 jobs are created. More than 1 billion rubles in tax revenues are expected per year. The required state support funds for this resort are planned to be invested in the creation of transport and engineering infrastructure, including gas, water and electricity supply, as well as wastewater disposal.

As Vadim Volchenko, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, noted, the Crimean project combines two tourism clusters — the city of Saki and the city of Yevpatoria, where a lot has already been done in terms of tourism infrastructure. The project includes about 12 km of a new promenade zone, which, after being combined with the existing embankment, will become, perhaps, the longest embankment in the Russian Federation. It is planned to improve about 45 hectares of beaches.

As for beach holidays, this has historically been, since Soviet times, a favorite vacation spot for Crimeans and guests of the peninsula. It will be expanded and landscaped, naturally, in compliance with all environmental standards. The resort itself will be created according to modern standards of sustainable tourism, priority will be given to electric transport, vehicle parking will be moved beyond the railway tracksaid the minister.

According to him, such a project can seriously change the economy not only of the west of the peninsula, but also of the entire Crimea. As part of the landmark project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal” for the whole country, approved by the President, the Crimean project is planned for implementation until 2030. The bulk of investments are private investments, which, of course, would not be possible without government support and investments in supporting infrastructure.

According to the mayor of the city of Saki, Alexander Ovdienko, in the region much attention is paid to an accessible environment, people with limited mobility and the creation of infrastructure for them; when designing a facility, the investor will definitely take these conditions into account.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea.
