According to him, endovenous laser coagulation is one of the most highly effective and atraumatic methods of treating varicose veins of the lower extremities.

During the procedure, due to the thermal effect of the laser on the inner walls of the vein, the lumen of the vessel is “closed”, after which normal blood circulation is restored. The operation takes place under local anesthesia and in a day hospital, that is, it does not require hospitalizationsaid the surgeon.

This type of treatment, like any surgical intervention, has a number of strict indications and contraindications. Laser surgical treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities can be prescribed to the patient by a vascular surgeon after examination and consultation with the main freelance specialized specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea.

On average, at least 200 such interventions are planned to be performed per year at the Republican Clinical Hospital named after N. A. Semashko. The operations are carried out within the framework of the compulsory medical insurance program, that is, free of charge for patients.
