The restoration of the road section on the Crimean Bridge has been completed. Traffic — on all four lanes

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Today, the movement of passenger vehicles and passenger buses is open on four lanes of the Crimean Bridge, which was completely restored after the terrorist attack that occurred on July 17, 2023.

By information Rosavtodor, all work on the Crimean Bridge was completed in less than three months. During this time, specialists built the temporary infrastructure necessary for the work, dismantled the damaged spans, assembled, delivered and installed new spans in the design position, laid asphalt concrete, restored the drainage, lighting and transport safety systems.

During the restoration work, the same technologies were used that were used in the construction of the Crimean Bridge, so we were well prepared for any surprises. This allowed us to complete all work well ahead of schedule.— Roman Novikov, head of the Federal Road Agency, spoke about the features of restoring the road part of the Crimean Bridge.

To replace the span on the left side of the road section, it was necessary to build a temporary working bridge necessary for the movement of heavy equipment and transportation of the span. The length of the bridge was 286 meters. It was assembled from 13 spans and stood on 16 supports, and the total mass of metal structures required for its manufacture exceeded 1000 tons.

Both new spans were assembled on special slipways, one of which was located on the island of Tuzla, and the second was located next to the production base of FKU Uprdor «Taman». The metal for the spans was produced by the Voronezhstalmost plant, and it was delivered to the production sites in the shortest possible time. For the large-scale assembly of new spans, 534 tons of metal structures were required.

On September 14, a day earlier than planned, traffic on the left side of the Crimean Bridge was restored. After this, restoration work began on the right side of the bridge. Specialists dismantled the barrier fence, lighting masts and removed asphalt concrete, after which the damaged span was cut into blocks to make the structure lighter and transported to storage areas. All this work was completed by the end of September.

In the first half of October, specialists completed an enormous amount of work. The bridge workers delivered and installed a new span into the design position, laid two layers of asphalt concrete, installed a barrier fence and lighting masts, and updated the drainage and transport safety systems. On October 13, a commission was already working on the bridge to check the quality of the work performed. 88 days passed from the day of the terrorist attack to the complete completion of the restoration of the road section.

The workers managed to complete the work 18 days ahead of schedule. According to the schedule, they had to meet it by November 1st. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin drew attention to this.

We opened traffic on the left side on September 14 — a day earlier. The right side, as reported to the President, was planned to be restored on November 1. But thanks to the heroic work of everyone who participated in this unique work, we managed to finish ahead of schedule! It is especially important that this happened on the eve of Road Workers Day. Our road workers and bridge workers, under the leadership of Rosavtodor and FKU Uprdor «Taman», showed a high level of professionalism and dedication to their work. I thank everyone for this titanic workreported Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
