The results of the Festival of Leader Skills of the Southern Federal District were summed up in Crimea

From September 29 to October 1, 2023, a unique event took place in the Republic of Crimea — the Festival of Counselor Excellence of the Southern Federal District, aimed at the professional development of counselors and counselor teams. 220 students from 8 regions took part, including the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye region. This event was dedicated to the year of “Teacher and Mentor”. Within the framework of which a competition was held aimed at identifying the best counselor team and counselor in the south of the country. Also within the framework of the Festival, an educational program was held, including lectures, master classes and exchange of experience. These opportunities strengthened the knowledge and skills of the participants, which they plan to apply in their regions when preparing counselors for future camps.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Youth of the Republic of Crimea, I would like to greet the participants of such a large-scale event. What is leadership? For me, this is a separate world, with great opportunities and people with kind hearts. This is a place where children’s eyes shine and loud laughter sounds, and this happens because next to them there is always a person who can do almost everything. And this man is a counselor. A counselor is a person with a capital P, he is a master, he is the one who leads these children. I am sure that the festival of counselor skills will become a platform for exchanging experiences and gaining new knowledge and improving professionalism. I wish that the fire that burns in your hearts never goes out, but becomes brighter every day, — Lyubov Poltavets, Deputy Head of the Department of Additional Education, Organization of Educational Work, Recreation and Health Improvement of Children — Head of the Department of Organization of Educational Work, Recreation and Health Improvement of Children of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Crimea, delivered welcoming remarks.

This year’s festival turned out to be incredibly significant for all of us, and I am sure that we will return to our regions with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm, ready to create better conditions for children and teenagers in our camps and organizations.

Participating in the Festival of Leadership Excellence was an exceptional experience. Not only did I broaden my horizons and deepen my understanding of the work of a leader, but I also had the opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices with colleagues from different regions. This was a real inspiration for us, future mentors making a difference in the lives of children, — says Polina Kuzyomina, a candidate for fighters in the student pedagogical detachment “Boomerang”.

From this Festival, participants took with them new acquaintances, professional development and skills, as well as reliable connections for future cooperation. The project is being implemented with the support of Rosmolodezh. Grants, the Festival contributed to the formation of a friendly atmosphere and support of leader skills in the southern regions of Russia and beyond.
