CrimeaPRESS reports:
The State Fund «Defenders of the Fatherland» has been working throughout Russia since June 1. During the first month, the Sevastopol branch received more than 250 applications. Most of the requests related to various support measures — paperwork, obtaining the status of a veteran or disabled combatant participating in the NWO, medical rehabilitation, psychological and psychotherapeutic assistance, assistance in prosthetics, as well as assistance in domestic matters. The social coordinators of the branch accepted all appeals.
There are more and more requests every day. People learn about the work of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, social coordinators work out all the requests that come within the framework of primary appointments and calls to the hotline. To date, more than 90 wards have been assigned to social coordinators for personal support. More than 30 wards received professional help from a psychologist, and were also sent for rehabilitation after various injuries.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the Sevastopol branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation Elena Anisimova.
Over the past month, the branch team also organized various events aimed at involving the families of the dead participants in the special operation and veterans of the NMD in the patriotic education of citizens and sports, and work to preserve historical memory. Thus, the branch held events dedicated to the Children’s Day, the Day of Russia and the City Day. On the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, employees of the Sevastopol branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland took part in the Candle of Memory and Dream Ships campaigns, and on the eve of the Day of Combat Veterans, an event was held with the participation of veterans and families of the fallen soldiers of the Northern Military District.
In addition, the branch has already concluded cooperation agreements with the Committee of the Fatherland Warriors’ Families, the Sevastopol Bar Association, the Sevastopol Notary Chamber and the Sevastopol regional branch of the Russian Bar Association. Thanks to this, visitors to the branch will be able to receive professional legal assistance free of charge. A number of agreements with other profile organizations of the city are also being prepared. In the near future, a document on cooperation with the Commissioner for Human Rights will be signed.
Last week, the head of the branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, Elena Anisimova, and the deputy director of the Department of Education and Science, Anton Ulyantsev, discussed issues of interaction and cooperation.
We once again discussed very important topics that are of interest to our wards. For example, the issue of educational support is now extremely relevant for veterans. Many want to undergo training or retraining, get a new profession and work. It is also important that a special agreement between the department and our organization is already being developed, which will consolidate our interaction in the field of education.— says Elena Anisimova.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science Anton Ulyantsev highly appreciated the organization of work of the state fund «Defenders of the Fatherland».
Our defenders can be calm that their families are supported in Sevastopol, they take care of their children. We told our colleagues from the foundation about the benefits and preferences for children of SVO participants in the education system of Sevastopol. We are sure that the interaction between the fund and the department will contribute to the prompt resolution of the problematic issues faced by our defenders and their families— emphasizes Anton Ulyantsev.
As a reminder, the Department of Education of Sevastopol is implementing a number of support measures for children and family members of SVO participants:
- in state educational organizations, children are provided with free meals;
- parents (legal representatives) of children are exempted from paying for attendance by a child of a state preschool educational institution;
- children of SVO participants are enrolled in a preschool educational institution on an extraordinary basis;
- in institutions of secondary vocational education, a 10% quota of the number of budget places for children of SVO participants is determined;
