Krympress reports:

About 1.1 million rubles were returned by residents of the hero city to cash circulation of the country during the Minute Week. It took place in Russia from April 7 to 19. During this period, the Sevastopol residents brought more than 230 thousand coins to banks, exchanged them for banknotes or credited them to their bank accounts. In total in Russia, citizens passed More than 51 million coins for almost 242 million rubles.

Banks participating in the shares canceled the commission for the exchange of metal money — usually it is up to 3% of the amount.

Basically, the Sevastopols brought a trifle in bags or plastic containers. Most of all, the townspeople handed over coins with a face value of 1 ruble (more than 76 thousand pieces) and 10 rubles (almost 75 thousand units). Low nominal nominal defisions exchanged less: from their piggy banks, the Sevastopol residents took out 74 five -cake coins and 160 penny. But no one wanted to part with metal rounds of 25 rubles.

This action in the country takes place twice a year, and the interest of Sevastopols in it is growing. So, last spring, the townspeople exchanged coins for 835 thousand rubles, that is, almost three hundred thousand rubles less than this time— noted the acting The manager of the department of Sevastopol of the Southern GU Bank of Russia Vitaly Sidorenko. — Every year, the regulator produces a large number of coins, but a significant part of them does not return to circulation, but settles in people in piggy banks and wallets. Meanwhile, this money is in demand in calculations. The Monetary Week returns the accumulated trifle to the appeal, which reduces the cost of minting new money.
