A week of financial literacy events in honor of the 220 anniversary of the Russian Ministry of Finance in Crimea — for Crimean schoolchildren — was held from 2 to 9 September. Open lessons on financial literacy for schoolchildren in honor of the 220 anniversary of the Russian Ministry of Finance were held in all regions of Crimea. From September 2 to 9, representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Crimea and municipalities of the republic, as well as other interested organizations shared their knowledge in the field of personal and public finance with the participants , the press service quotes Irina Kiviko.
During the speeches, the speakers, having presented a presentation «Simple steps to financial well-being», told the participants about the structure of the financial system and the country’s budget, about how financial literacy affects the well-being of the family and the state, which form the basis of the financial security of the family and society, including how to avoid «financial pyramids» and financial fraud, and also shared the achievements in filling and executing the Crimean budget this year.
Such events will become the basis for the formation of children’s interest in the financial and budgetary sphere. Children grow up. And for an adult, financial illiteracy is at best unprofitable, at worst dangerous. Children need knowledge in this area so that in ten or fifteen years they will confidently enter adulthood and engage in the conscious creation of their own future, and not continue to rely on the help of their parents , — said Irina Kiviko.
