During the New Year holidays, the Tavrida cave was visited on average by about 500 people per day. In addition to classic excursions, interactive activities were organized for guests. This was announced by the head of the excursion department of the Scientific Speleo-Palaeontological Complex “Tavrida Cave”, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of the Crimean Federal University Igor Vakhrushev. According to him, the facility’s workers were ready to meet a large number of visitors, so there were no disruptions in work.

The cave was open all holidays. On average, it was visited by about 500 people a day. We have worked as a classic Crimean tourist attraction with steady demand. Among the main New Year’s decorations of the cave is a reverse Christmas tree, located in the largest hall — the Vernadsky Hall. It symbolizes the unusual way of formation of the Tavrida cave, which you can learn about during the excursion– said Igor Vakhrushev.

In addition, at the end of the excursion, theatrical quests were held for guests, which were popular among tourists last year. The duration of the quest is about 1.5-2 hours. Participants completed assignments on geography, paleontology and geology of Crimea that developed their horizons, solved logic problems, played various games of skill, and also had the opportunity to meet Santa Claus, the Cave Keeper and other unusual inhabitants.

According to Igor Vakhrushev, the complex will continue to surprise visitors with unusual events. On January 13, the first concert of the new program of the Crimean State Philharmonic “From Baroque to Rock” will take place at its base, which will combine classical works and modern musical compositions performed by a chamber string orchestra. The concert will feature the best works of classics from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras: A. Corelli, W. A. ​​Mozart, E. Grieg. In addition, the Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of artistic director and conductor Mikhail Serbinenko, will perform soundtracks to famous works of cinema and famous hits of rock music in the original arrangement.
