In Sevastopol, on the basis of sports school No. 5, the Russian Cup in arm wrestling was held. For the hero city, these competitions have already become traditional — the country’s strongest arm wrestlers come here for the seventh year in a row, reports Sports training center for national teams of Sevastopol.
In total, just over 70 athletes from 16 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the tournament. Men and women competed for medals from the Kaliningrad region to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. 19 sets of awards were played in different weight categories.
In addition, the athletes who took first and second places fulfilled the standard of the Master of Sports of Russia (of course, with the required number of participants and regions in the category).
The winner of the Russian Cup was determined based on the results of the double event (wrestling on the left and right hands). Through a scoring system, the best results in all weight categories were summed up and the strongest team of the tournament was determined.
The victory in the overall standings was celebrated by the team of the Belgorod region, which repeated its cup success in 2019. In second place are Sevastopol residents, and in third place are Crimeans.
