Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu inspected the organization of combat training of military personnel and volunteers at the training grounds of the Southern Military District.

The head of the combat training department of the Southern Military District reported to Sergei Shoigu that the training of contract soldiers and volunteers is carried out in special tactical, fire, medical, engineering training, as well as training programs for unmanned aerial vehicle operators, driver mechanics and other military specialties.

Classes at the training grounds are conducted under the guidance of officers with combat experience gained during participation in a special military operation. “In accordance with the experience of a special military operation, trainees practice the evacuation of the wounded from equipment, from trenches, the very process of delivery to evacuation means, as well as practicing the organization of communications in an offensive battle— reported the head of the Combat Training Directorate of the Southern Military District.

The commander of the training center for training UAV operators of the BARS volunteer detachment reported to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation that the center’s graduates had gained extensive combat experience and presented sets of equipment on which military personnel are trained. During fire training, the trainees fired from various types of small arms, as well as from a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher, an AGS-17 automatic mounted grenade launcher, and a Shmel rocket-propelled infantry flamethrower.

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation thanked the female military personnel of the Medical Service of the Russian Armed Forces for their work in training contract soldiers and volunteers in learning the skills of providing medical care in combat conditions and awarded them with wristwatches. In turn, women expressed their readiness to apply the acquired skills and knowledge on the battlefield on an equal basis with men.

Summing up the meeting, the head of the military department drew attention to the issues of organizing and providing combat training for military personnel and volunteers in reserve units.

According to his information, the General Staff has formed reserve regiments for each group.

Today we have nine reserve regiments that are being trained, and they are being naturally, constantly replenished, noted the Minister. — During this time, we have recruited 38 thousand volunteers. People come highly motivated, ready to carry out combat missions. Some already have combat experience, because many of the volunteers, having completed a six-month contract, return for a second time, and there are those who return for a third time.
